Are you a better farmer or a city planner? Test your skills in Township to find out.
is a modern farming town mixed with city planning. When you first arrive, your neighbor Ernie arrives to give you some advice on how to start getting crops and money to build your town. You start by earning money through the traditional method: planting and selling wheat. In Township, the crops do not magically sow itself, instead a bunch of tiny farmers will sow the seeds and tend to the land.
Ernie then shows you your second method of farming: animal husbandry. You have cows to milk so you can sell them for more money. The currencies in Township are gold coins and T-cash. Gold coins are what you get when you sell your produce, while T-cash is a more premium currency to speed up processing and growth of your crops. Gems and ingots are special currencies you get once you unlock the mines. The discovery of mines will lead to new buildings and trade, and it will be available once you reach level 21.
Once you harvest your first wheat and milk your first cow, you will be guided towards repairing the town bakery to bake your first bread. First, fix the helipad so you can deliver to your residents in town. All the produce you made and harvest ends up in the barn. You can filter it by selecting the tabs on the top: plants, produce and tools. After all that work, you now get to name your town! If you are not happy with your town name later on, you can change it by going to the Town Hall.
In the Town Hall, you can change your town’s name by tapping the green pencil icon on the side. You can see your information such as achievements, orders filled and the level in the game. Your ability to grow depends on your population in the town. To attract people, you have to build community buildings like schools, grocery stores and hospitals. The more people you have in the town, the more farming fields you can have.
When you are looking at your town, your level in the game is on the top left corner. The higher the level, the more people you can have in the town. The population is at the bottom of the level: the amount of people you have/ the amount of people you are allowed to have. On the top right are the amount of money you have in both currencies.
At the bottom left, the people icon are the friends you have in the game. You can link your social media account to the game to make new friends or play with your friends in Township. Access the settings via the gear icon below the population bar. You can find news and updates from the mail icon, the updates include special events. The edit mode allows you to move buildings and change pavement types in the game.

How To Play

Township focuses on farming and husbandry, so at the start your focus is to earn gold coins by fulfilling orders. Once you get the train station going, you can start trade by sending your produce away, the train will return with tools for special buildings. Hence you have to balance your stock levels between getting more gold coins and getting tools. If you run out of space in the barn, you can leave the crops in the field. However, that will limit new crops you can grow. So be sure to make items like feed, bread or dairy products to create space, and keep a close eye on the order board.
Another focus early on in the game is the population, because you need people to gain more farming land. Having a bigger population also allows you to expand into neighboring land, which will allow you to build more community buildings and factories. With population increase, it can be hard to keep everyone happy. Ideally, you will build community buildings near houses, and factories near the farm lands.
While it can be tempting to use your T-cash to speed up buildings and harvest, you should keep it until you have need for it. You can always make friends and visit neighbors while you wait for your wheat to grow. Otherwise, plan your next move in Township by deciding what to do when you get the sacks of wheat. Will you be making feed for the cows and chickens, selling it on the train, or baking it into bread and pies to sell for gold coins?
There are a lot of decisions to make in Townships, fortunately there are no time constraints for you to fulfill orders usually. Hence, if you see an order with a time limit, be sure to fill that one first, it may offer more money or rewards. It takes time and patience to build a town, fortunately you can move buildings around when you expand. Keep increasing your maximum population to get the manpower for farms and factories.
You can decorate your Township with fountains, statues and set different pavers in the map. Some decorations are free when you level up, others cost gold coins. They are important if you are participating in decorating events, and you can win rewards like T-cash. Decorations do not affect population happiness. But if you see a speech bubble pop up in houses, tap on them to have a read on your people’s comments and gain some experience points. Listening to your people's thoughts are one of the perks of being a Mayor in Township.
The best way to move forward quickly in Township is to make friends. You gain experience points and coins when you help your friends. Visiting neighboring towns is a good way to pass the time, and to get some town design ideas from other people. And if you need a tool, you can always ask your friends to help you by sending tools as a gift. This will speed up your ability to own special buildings.
