Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is a masterpiece of immersive horror. Experience the “final” boss of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise in a totally unique and extra terrifying atmosphere!
The Five Nights at Freddy's series has been an internet sensation since 2014. In Five Nights at Freddy's games, you play as a character who's being hunted by monstrous animatronics at night. Your goal is to keep your eyes peeled and watch all of the entrances and exits in order to keep the animatronics from sneaking up on you. Should you lose track of one of your foes, you'll be treated to a jump scare of the antagonist leaping out at you, followed by a “game over” screen.
Short, Low Budget
The first Five Nights at Freddy's game was made by an indie game developer who specialized in making short, low-budget games. Five Nights at Freddy's was no exception. Despite these qualities, FNAF took the internet by storm. The innovative gameplay, spooky atmosphere, and low price tag helped make it popular. The biggest factor, however, was attention from streamers and content creators on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. Viewers got a kick out of watching some of the internet's biggest names screaming and jumping out of their chairs as a spooky animatronic villain performed a jumpscare to end their run.
Five Nights at Freddy's 3 refined the formula developed in the first two Five Nights at Freddy's games. While other titles would further experiment with the franchise and add different gameplay elements and settings, FNAF 3 serves as a conclusion to the story and ideas introduced in the first two FNAF games. In Five Nights at Freddy's 3, you play as a night shift security guard in a “haunted house” attraction themed around the murders that occurred during the first two games. Armed with security cameras, controllable air vents, and audio traps, you've got plenty of tools to keep the game's single animatronic at bay.
Intimate And Personal
Five Nights at Freddy's 3's reliance on a single antagonist makes it feel very different from other entries in the series. Rather than each night being a chaotic mess with lots of enemies to track, the only thing that can kill you in FNAF 3 is Springtrap. The phantom enemies can mess with your run, sure, but tracking Springtrap is your big priority. This means that the game is easier to learn since you can isolate the audio cues of the entity that killed you much more easily, It's also faster to learn the level, and you feel like you're engaging with your enemy a lot more.
Despite this, Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is not an easy game. The phantom animatronics and the lack of a door to the control room mean that you'll still die plenty of times as you learn the game. The unlockable hard modes are still fiendishly hard, giving fans of the series plenty of chances to catch a jumpscare before they earn the game's fourth star.
Should You Play FNAF 3?
Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is definitely not for everyone. It's a short, difficult, and very scary game, with terrifying ambiance and jumpscares galore. Perhaps more importantly, the story of the Five Nights at Freddy's games is told via bits of audio, newspaper clippings, pixel-art cutscenes, and other clues. This means that many fans turn to YouTube videos and internet articles to figure out what's going on. When you couple this mountain of fan analysis with videos of your favorite internet celebrity jumping out of their chair when they die, it's easy to get most of the FNAF experience without actually buying the game.
As far as performance goes, the phone port of FNAF 3 is great. None of the Five Nights At Freddy's games are particularly performance-heavy, and the simple controls lend themselves well to mobile. If you're interested in experiencing the game's scares for yourself, the mobile port is a great option.

How To Play

In Five Nights at Freddy's 3, your goal is to manipulate a series of cameras and security systems to keep close tabs on the animatronic Springtrap. You'll need to combine the feed from the security cameras with audio cues in order to survive each night.
Dealing With Springtrap
The menus in Five Nights at Freddy's 3 are divided into two sections. The left section, near the door, gives you the ability to reboot various security systems. This menu comes in handy when you're fending off phantom animatronics, as it'll allow you to regain control of critical camera feeds and vent controls.
The camera menu, found on the right of the screen, is where you'll spend most of your time. There are two levels to the camera system. Level one holds the basic layout of the haunted house. Level 2 gives you access to cameras in the air vents in between rooms. If you're just starting out, try to listen carefully for the animatronic and avoid using the second level of cameras until you're sure he's entered the vents. This will help keep you focused on relevant cameras without unnecessary distractions.
In addition to checking the camera feeds, you can do two important things from the camera menu. First, you can play audio from various locations, enabling you to lure Springtrap away from the office. Second, you can shut various vents and prevent Springtrap from making forward progress. The combination of these two tasks gives you a lot of control over Springtrap's movements, making FNAF 3 a much more tightly focused and claustrophobic experience than the first two games.
Dealing With Phantoms
In order to spice things up, FNAF has a number of phantom antagonists that will mess with you. The first phantom, BB, can be avoided by simply shutting off your camera briefly when you see her. Foxy will idle in your control room in the corner. If you see Foxy, just look away and you'll be fine. Similarly, when Freddy walks back and forth in front of the control room, avoid staring at him to keep control over all of your electronics. Finally, after night 4, an antagonist will live in camera 8. Just like the others, avoid spending too much time looking at camera 8 to avoid being spooked.
