Face off with a friend or a stranger on the virtual billiards table in 8 Ball Pool.
Before you enter the pool room, first you have to find an opponent. You get paired with a person who is the same level before you get started. The game starts with a ready laid pool table with all the balls in place. First, the game teaches you how to aim and use the power bar to hit the ball with the cue. After that, you pair is a random person online to play your first game.
8 Ball Pool lets you play a minigame, play against your friends, or participate in a tournament. There are mini games that allow you to earn coins such as slots and lucky spins. Once you have enough wins, you can head to the Play Special option to play 8 balls with no Guidelines, 9 Ball, or Tournament. To gain wins, you focus on playing 1 on 1 with random players in the game.
The first pub you play in will be Downtown London Pub, it costs 50 coins to play. Cash is the premium currency you can use to buy better cue sticks. To buy cues, head to the Shop to select the Cues option. There are 5 tabs: Standard, Victory, Surprise, Country, and Owned. You can see the sticks you own in the Owned section, or via the shortcut on the top of the screen on the main page.
On the main page, enter the club you joined via the Clubs icon in the far left corner. Below the Club icon is the message icon that houses all the communications. Next to the Clubs icon is your profile picture with your wins. Your cue collection power is next in line. Your cues are important in the game, and cue collection power will give you bonuses like cash and extra avatar in the game.
Play daily to check off tasks and gain free coins or cash. Compare your score against other plays on the leaderboard in the center of the game. See where you are in the game, in the country or among your friends. The shop is on the right of the leaderboard, with the currencies next to it.
In the center of the game, you have Play 1 to 1, running events, Play Special, Play Minigames, Play with Friends or Practice Offline. These are your playing options in 8 Ball Pool, but some games require a minimum winning statistic. At the start, you will focus on winning the 1 to 1 games against other players. In Downtown London Pub, there is a 50 coin entry fee to play, the winner takes all.
The gear icon on the bottom left screen is the settings page. Access your account, link with social media like Facebook or Google Play via the settings page. You can also set how sensitive you want the touch screen to be when you aim or shoot. If you forgot how to play, check out the tutorial again. You can also switch the chat on or off in the settings page. The 4 box slots in the bottom center are the prizes you win from Spins or Slots. Each box will contain cue parts or coins.

How To Play

Aim the pool cue towards the ball or the rack, then slide the power bar downwards and release the finger to shoot. When you are aiming, the line will appear from the cue to the ball. There will be a circle near the ball to show the reflection angle. Use the aiming wheel for better accuracy if you are not confident with the tap and slide method. You have sixty seconds to make your decision and shoot, or you will lose your turn. ‘
The rule of playing 1 to 1 is easy: choose stripe or solid balls, sink them all before going for the 8 ball. The first ball you sink after the break will determine which type you have to play. If you are the first to play, you can position the white cue ball anywhere to the left of the white head string. Once you break but not sink any balls, the opponent goes next. Tap on the white cue ball on the top right corner, and tap on the ball to mark where you want to hit the ball. The default setting is the center, where the red circle is.
If you hit the opponent’s ball, you lose the game, so be sure to aim for your own. However, if the white ball reflects and bounces the opponent’s ball, that is acceptable. You will automatically lose the round when you sink the 8 ball, or hit the opponent’s ball instead of yours. It is normal for cue balls to enter the pocket. The opponent will place the white cue ball anywhere on the table before the next shot.
To give up on the game, tap on the green box with 3 lines on the top left corner to show the option. Aside from Close, you can leave the game, or change play settings, or swap cue sticks. Just be mindful of the timer, because it does not stop counting down when it is your turn. If you leave the game before it ends, you will lose the money in the pot.
It is easy to play 8 Ball Pool, but hard to master. You are paired with other players at the same level, but not the amount of wins. Tap on the message icon on the top to open the window for phrases. Select the phrase and your profile picture will “speak” it. You can disable this in the settings if you prefer to be quiet.
8 Ball Pool might be a phone game, but the balls behave like in the real world. They reflect when hit, and the balls will spin or swing depending on how you hit it. The added benefit is that the game shows you how the cue ball will reflect or bounce when it hits the ball.
